It was during this time that Steve began to research his family history. Through this, Steve learnt of a branch of the family in America making several trips to re-establish contact. In March 1996, Steve, with a wish to see more of the U.S.A., undertook a contract in California leaving Manchester Airport in April 1996.

Steve was known by all as an extremely kind, sincere and generous man. Professionally, his intelligence and skill in the field of computing, combined with his enthusiasm and warm personality, gained him great respect in his field.

A true giant among men, touching and inspiring those, fortunate enough to have met him.
He is greatly missed.
